These bricks are “common bricks” in keeping with Christianity’s beginnings amongst the common folk. They were left over from our house building materials…but there were not enough, so Rob gathered those he had in his brick yard to add to them.
The original plan was to render the outside like the inside and paint it white… similar to the ones across the USA. As I walked up the road during the building process, I fell in love with the natural rustic colours! To render or not render! After a quick discussion we all just immediately agreed to leave it as it was… from here the building took on its own design life.
